2K Recruits Apex Legends Producer to Rescue Struggling Action Game Project Ethos
2K Games has secured Ben Brinkman from Respawn Entertainment to direct the development team at their internal studio, which is currently developing the forthcoming third-person roguelike extraction-shooter known as this innovative game.
Leadership Change Follows Mixed Feedback
Brinkman assumes the leadership position at the development studio following the departure of previous head the ex-Sledgehammer Games executive, who was reportedly let go due to Project Ethos' lackluster unveiling last fall.
Recently, 2K president David Ismailer notified team members about this strategic move through an official communication, which highlighted that playtesting had revealed the necessity for a distinct direction.
Ismailer noted that the developers is now refining the project with a revised focus, aiming to better meet gamer demands.
A Pattern of Key Recruitment
This announcement echoes a similar step taken by 2K Games in the summer, when they hired Rod Fergusson from the Diablo team to assist with the beloved franchise development group.
